APFA’s request for additional compensation during term of contract rejected by AA

On October 23, 2015, APFA announced that it was forming an “Additional Compensation Taskforce (ACT)” to examine options to obtain additional compensation before the New Year. The AA-APFA contract does not reopen for negotiations until late 2018.

On November 9, 2015, APFA announced that it had met with AA management, unsuccessfully. “Yes, as Management reminded me, we are in the middle of a contract and there is nothing compelling management to add value. But this year’s profits, at American and throughout the industry, have been nothing short of remarkable. Flight Attendants, and all employees, deserve to share in those profits. This requires an act of Management based on respect and partnership,” wrote the APFA President.

The AA-APFA contract does not contain profit sharing.
