Delta’s profit sharing continues to lead despite American’s new program

For the first time since its unions negotiated post-merger contracts eliminating profit sharing, American has announced a new profit sharing program­ with the first payout scheduled for 2017. That program provides for an employee profit sharing pool of 5% of American’s pre-tax income. Delta, on the other hand, shares a minimum of 10% of its profit with employees (increasing to 20% for profits exceeding the previous year’s).
