On May 5, after nine years of negotiations and two failed tentative agreements (TAs), Spirit flight attendants ratified a new collective bargaining agreement covering approximately 1,796 flight attendants. This is only the second contract for the Spirit flight attendants since the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) became their certified representative in 2000. The deal includes wage increases, among other improvements. Flight attendants at top of scale (TOS) received a 25% pay increase date of signing. The new TOS rate is $46.33 and flight attendants will receive an additional 2% pay increase in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 4% in 2020. Spirit does not have an employee profit sharing program.
