On June 7, the IAM and Spirit Airlines reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) concluding negotiations for the first contract of Ramp Service Employees (below-wing), who are all based in FLL. In 2015, the IAM reached an interim agreement primarily covering wages, benefits (the same plans offered to all other “general population” employees) and union security. The new TA finalizes the agreement with traditional provisions including scope, uniforms, vacation, etc. The ratification vote will conclude on June 23.
The interim five year agreement included pay increases, 2% each year starting in 2016, with a top of scale hourly rate at eight years of $14.33 in 2016 and $15.51 in 2019. The agreement does not include profit sharing.
