On April 28, 2015, Allegiant’s dispatchers voted to decertify their representative, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Out of 17 eligible voters, 14 voted and split their vote evenly between the IBT and “no representative”. At the time, the dispatchers had been represented by IBT since December 2012, but did not yet have a first contract. On June 26, 2015, the IBT sued the NMB, claiming that it was required to hold a run-off election in these circumstances. The case has not yet been decided.
