Southwest Flight Attendants Prevail In Efforts to Initiate Union Officers Recall

A recall of the Transportation Workers Union (TWU) Local 556 Executive Board at Southwest has begun months after the initial recall petitions were delivered, and a lawsuit was filed to enforce the rights of the flight attendants demanding the recall. The recall process began in 2015 requesting new elections of 12 out of the 17 Officers and Executive Board Members, including the President, and required that 50% of the members sign the petition triggering the recall.  The Union had previously refused to process the recall petitions.

The first step in the process requires the verification of the petitions and should be completed by July 21, 2017
